MontoHealth Builds AI Action Layer for Health Care Workflows
MontoHealth, a health care AI company developing intelligent agents for clinical workflows, is developing an AI infrastructure platform designed to move health care AI beyond generating information and toward taking actions across operational systems.
The company describes its technology as an "action layer" that connects AI agents with the applications used by providers, payers and other health care organizations. The goal is to let agents perform multistep work across existing systems rather than requiring employees to manually carry AI-generated information into downstream workflows.
MontoHealth's approach focuses on the infrastructure between AI models and health care applications. That includes handling integrations, permissions and workflow execution while allowing organizations to retain their existing software.
The platform is intended to support agentic applications that need to interact with multiple systems to complete clinical and administrative processes.
For health care IT teams, the approach targets a key challenge in moving generative AI into production. An assistant that summarizes information has relatively limited operational authority, while an agent that can modify records or trigger workflows requires stronger controls around identity, authorization, auditing and human oversight.
As health care organizations deploy more specialized AI agents, common infrastructure for connecting those agents securely to existing applications could also reduce the need to build and maintain separate integrations for every AI use case.
