Immorta Bio Uses AI to Develop Immunotherapy Targeting Aging-Related Diseases

Immorta Bio, a biotechnology company developing therapies for aging-related diseases, has completed planned preclinical studies of SenoMune-0257, an experimental immunotherapy developed using artificial intelligence to target senescent cells associated with aging and chronic disease.

The treatment uses a synthetic nine-amino-acid peptide designed to stimulate immune responses against senescent cells, which accumulate with age and contribute to inflammation and tissue deterioration.

According to Immorta Bio, laboratory studies showed that the peptide activated cytotoxic T cells capable of eliminating senescent cells while sparing healthy cells under the conditions tested.

The company developed the candidate by using AI to identify potential peptides, then narrowing the selections through computational analysis and laboratory experiments.

Immorta Bio says the synthetic peptide could offer manufacturing advantages over personalized cellular immunotherapies.

The company plans to begin clinical evaluation before the end of 2026. Its safety and effectiveness in humans have not been established.

For biotechnology developers, the project illustrates how AI-assisted molecular discovery is being combined with experimental immunotherapy research. However, translating identified drug candidates computationally into approved treatments still requires clinical testing to establish safety and efficacy.
