Heidi Health Adds AI Agents for Clinical Administrative Work

Heidi Health, the AI Care Partner for leading clinicians and health systems, has introduced Heidi II, an expanded clinical AI system that uses agents to automate administrative work before, during, and after patient appointments.

The platform builds on Heidi's AI medical scribe, which generates clinical notes from conversations between clinicians and patients. Heidi II extends that approach by assigning agents to additional tasks associated with a visit rather than limiting AI to documentation.

The agents can work across clinical workflows to prepare information, generate documents, and complete administrative follow-up. Heidi positions the system as a way to reduce the amount of time clinicians spend moving information between systems and performing repetitive tasks outside direct patient care.

The architecture is designed around clinician oversight, with health care professionals retaining control over work performed by the agents. Heidi II is designed to work across the systems clinicians already use. New connectors allow Heidi to work with existing practice systems, from pulling appointment lists and answering questions from the EHR, to reading and writing appointments and clinical mail, or following a practice's documented process from an SOP.

For health care IT teams, that expansion raises additional integration and governance requirements. Agentic systems that interact with clinical workflows require controls around permissions, patient data, auditing, and human approval, particularly when AI-generated actions can affect downstream care processes.
