Precision BioLogic Expands Hemostasis Diagnostics Through Acquisitions

Precision BioLogic, a developer of hemostasis diagnostic products, is expanding its hemostasis diagnostics and research business by combining capabilities from two acquired subsidiaries, Affinity Biologicals and George King Bio-Medical.

One focus is the company's CRYOcheck Chromogenic Factor VIII assay. Precision BioLogic has expanded the assay's intended utility as hemophilia treatments evolve, including therapies such as Mim8, a bispecific antibody for hemophilia A. The company said laboratories have shown increased interest in measuring factor VIII accurately in patients receiving newer therapies.

Precision BioLogic also presented research at the ISTH 2026 conference in Paris. One study examined an automated lupus anticoagulant assay designed to resist interference from anticoagulant drugs, including direct oral anticoagulants and oral FXI inhibitors. Another investigated the effects of factor VIII mimetics and replacement therapies on inhibitor testing.

The company's subsidiaries provide complementary capabilities. Affinity Biologicals manufactures products for thrombosis and hemostasis research and diagnostics, while George King Bio-Medical supplies hemostasis diagnostic products and has ties to the bleeding-disorders community. Precision BioLogic acquired Affinity Biologicals in 2018 and George King Bio-Medical in 2025.
