Waters Corp., a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics, has introduced the Xevo TQ Absolute XR IVD Mass Spectrometer, a new in vitro diagnostic (IVD) system designed to improve the sensitivity and robustness of clinical testing based on mass spectrometry.

The instrument is intended to support laboratories performing high-volume diagnostic assays by delivering improved analytical performance while maintaining the reliability required for routine clinical use. The system is designed for applications including endocrinology, toxicology, therapeutic drug monitoring and other laboratory-developed tests where highly sensitive molecular analysis is required. The platform integrates with its clinical workflow software and chromatography systems to streamline laboratory operations.

According to the company, the new system builds on its existing clinical mass spectrometry portfolio by helping laboratories detect lower concentrations of analytes while improving uptime and operational efficiency. Featuring the new StepWave™ XR Ion Guide, the Xevo TQ Absolute XR IVD System delivers improved robustness, enabling ion ratio consistency for up to six times longer compared with the Xevo TQ Absolute IVD System.
