MedDream and VELMENI to Demo New AI-Powered Imaging on AWS HealthImaging

MedDream and VELMENI will present a new artificial intelligence imaging solution built on AWS HealthImaging at the upcoming Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2025 conference in Chicago, according to a joint announcement by the companies.

The collaboration brings together MedDream, a provider of cloud-based DICOM viewers, and VELMENI, a developer of AI tools for dental diagnostics. The two companies have developed an automated workflow for clinical image processing that will be demonstrated at the event.

MedDream develops a cloud-optimized software application that enables healthcare professionals to view, manipulate, and analyze medical images stored in the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) format. DICOM viewers can integrate with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and AI platforms. Its software is used by OEMs and providers building modular imaging systems.

VELMENI offers AI-based dental imaging tools designed to assist clinicians and inform patient care. Its platform uses machine learning models to identify oral health indicators and guide treatment planning.

The solution integrates VELMENI's AI algorithms with MedDream's imaging software to streamline tasks such as image recognition and visualization. The companies say their software significantly reduces the time clinicians spend identifying mandibular nerve canals, generating panoramic reconstructions, and marking key anatomical features. Tasks that once required 20 to 90 minutes of manual work can now be completed in seconds, they claim.

The system is currently in use at one of the largest dental networks in the United States. MedDream's viewer enables clinicians to take measurements from AI-generated results with minimal delay, improving diagnostic consistency and allowing more time for patient consultation.

Although the demonstration focuses on dental use cases, the companies describe the system as a model for other imaging domains such as radiology, cardiology, and ophthalmology. According to MedDream, the integration demonstrates how AI-ready viewers combined with cloud-native imaging platforms can help healthcare providers modernize diagnostic workflows.

"This collaboration exemplifies how MedDream brings AI innovation directly into clinicians' hands," said Tomas Dumbliauskas, CEO of MedDream, in a statement. "Our cloud-optimized viewer is built to integrate seamlessly with any AI solution, accelerating time-to-diagnosis while maintaining consistency and scalability."

The system will be on display at the AWS booth throughout RSNA 2025. Visitors will be able to observe the AI workflow in action and assess how it reduces reliance on manual image processing. According to MedDream, this builds on its RSNA 2024 demonstration and further reinforces its role as a vendor-neutral partner for healthcare technology companies seeking to develop AWS-compatible solutions.
